Horses Saved  from Slaughter

10 days after arriving at the rescue !

Meet Starsky, rescued the same time we took in Hutch. Last minute rally and some wonderful people pitched in to save this lucky boy !! He will be available for adoption after evaluation, medical and training. May or June.

We purchase these horses directly from the kill pens, sometimes hours before they ship to the slaughter plants in Canada and Mexico. Please donate, we can only save them with help from people who care.

We bought Ima Grey Sunrise from the killer in December. He said the auction he bought her at said she has been exposed and may be bred. We had the vet out and she sure is !!!  She will be evaluated after her foal is weaned.

We bought Callie before she shipped for slaughter. The person who adopted her could not believe a horse of this quailty could have been going to slaughter. We sent her on a trial and after 1 month asked if they would like another month and they said we want to adopt her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She stood quietly in the kill pen, together with many other horses awaiting shipment to Mexico to be slaughterd. The rescue people came, and she was softly WISPERING to them to notice her, she had HOPE she would be one of those saved that day.

Whisper was adopted 60 days after she arrived.
